"Agrajag" (Agrajag)

Stopped at a Dunkin' Donut's drive-thru tonight in my GTI. After placing my order I pull up to the window.
Guy: $2.11. (as I scrounge for change) Bro, is that a stick?
Agrajag's internal monologue: Yes, the "D" that is second in brightness only to Sol the Lightgiver indicates this is a stick shift.
Agrajag: No, it's a DSG. (hands over money)
Guy: Hey, there is a GTI here.(does not give hot cocoa)
(another guy comes over)
Guy 2: Nice. Is it fast?(does not give hot cocoa)
A: It does alright for a hatchback.
Aim: STAHP!! I JUST WANT MY COCOA.
They are jammed shoulder to shoulder in the window.
Guy 2: You gotta give us something. Do a burnout or rev it a little.(does not give cocoa)
A: I'll give you a rev.
braaaappbraaaAAAPP
Guy 2: Is that an aftermarket exhaust?(does not give hot cocoa)
A: No(stern gaze)
Guy 1: Here you go. Have a good night. (gives hot cocoa)
Guy 2: Be safe.
A: Take it easy.
They were nice kids, but christ already.
Sips hot chocolate writes post.

You should have just sat there after they gave you your hot coco and slowly drank it while staring out the windshield.

Pretty cool to see them interested in it!

The dealer I worked had like tons of GTIs coming in on a daily basis. Not like they're special exotics or anything..

At this point I would be saying "So that's why drive thrus take longer than the entire history of this planet", but everyone here drives beige-mobiles, so that can't be.

That must be why I see them very, very rarely. Seriously, I've seen very few. I've probably seen more Aston's than GTI's.

Share that story on VW Vortex and you'll probably have at least one of them reply to you

No, absolutely not. You just stare out the windshield. No noise besides the sipping of coco.

Right. They were high school kids, probably get excited by every Civic and GTI that rolls through.

Yeah. It doesn't get much acknowledgement, but when it does it's high schoolers.

I guess they were surprised the car didn't die in the drive thru line
I mean, a running GTI, what are the odds? :p

When they finally look scared enough, drive away only to circle back around for more staring.

I'll go there and probably find a "Saw MKV GTI DSG STOCK EXHAUST at Drive-thru" thread.

You made some kid's night with your VW. This is how Jalops are born.

At least they seemed to get the point after you gave them the look.
